Ostrich - Lower Pliocene fossils found from
southern Europe and southeastern Asia. Today these 2-toed running birds live
in southwestern Asia and Africa . Males are typicall black and white but the
females are brown. They are the largest living bird; length to 180 cm, height
260 cm, weight 136 kg, egg 1.6 kg. with Aftershafts, down, and filoplumes
absent.
